Menuju Satu Dasawarsa Ada Apa Dengan Cinta (#10thnAADC)

Namun AADC sungguh berbeda.
“9 hari sebelum HUT ke-10 AADC?

BIRTHDAY; once it arrives, it just ends too soon

What do you feel when today is your birthday? What is your wishes? What do you expect? What do you do to spend the day?
I always sad when my birthday comes, because once it arrives, it end up in a blink of the eye. I always sad because I have too much expectation. Name the most popular gift for a girl for her birthday: doll, chocolate, flowers, I just never get any. Yes, I'm just that pathetic. So, I simply dislike my birthday.
Today, I'm the birthday girl. I'm officially 19. I try to convince myself that I'm blessed but somehow I feel rejected. While writing this, I'm crying.
This year, I'm in the second semester in the university, I'm majoring communication. I didn't expect anything from my classmates but they are the only one who made my day this day. They hugged me, um no, exactly I hugged them all (I love hugs)
This year, I'm studying in Jakarta, my parents are in Batam. It is 7pm and they haven't greet me yet.
In campus, I am member of Theatre club but their greetings to me is just too ordinary.
Today, I'm in crush with a senior and he doesn't even recognize me. How can I expect to get his wishes?
Today is my birthday, I don't even take any pictures and don't even eat any cakes.

See, how selfish, egocentric and not grateful I am. Yes, I am that bad. I am immature! I guess today is just my bad day. (now playing: Daniel Powter - Bad Day)

Bambang Pamungkas, great soccer player and good writer ;

Soccer. Looks like everybody loves it. I love soccer, the euphoria its bring really wonderful especially when it comes to celebration like FIFA World Cup or UEFA Euro Cup. By mentioning soccer, maybe you knew what I want to talk. Yes, the greatest issue in our country now: AFF Final that will be held in Gelora Bung Karno this Wednesday. I never support our beloved country Indonesia like this before. But this match versus Malaysia is more than just a game. It is about pride. When we lose the game against Malaysia on last Sunday, everyone I knew was really disappointed. It makes a big scar in our mind.
Here I don't want to say such a word, I just want to talk about Bambang Pamungkas. I never support our country soccer team before but when I started to watch their third match in AFF, I found out I support them. And I never been have a crush on Bambang Pamungkas, -I knew his name and face a long time ago but didn't think he is talented-  The point is I don't really into him until I found and read his blog. PS. YOU HAVE TO READ IT!
And I realize one thing, great person like JK Rowling or Steve Jobs -that I've discussed about in the previous post- can't named 'great' unless they deliver speech or write it or maybe has a trendmark quote. Name a great person, Obama for example. Whoa! He is even greater. Name another, Marthin Luther King Jr. He is also famous with his "I Have A Dream." Name someone else, Lady Gaga. Well, you can read her quote and fashion statement almost everywhere.
So, writing that is a communication skill is essential to everyone. Especially to us, the ones who majoring communication. Even Bambang Pamungkas, the one who only graduate from high school has a good writing.

Speech as part of public communication

Me and class have learned Chapter 13: Public Communication on Monday, December 27th 2010. Our lecturer Ms. Dessy Kania showed us two videos. Joanne Kathleen Rowling's Harvard commencement speeech 2008 and Steve Jobs' Stanford commencement speech 2005. You can find JK Rowling's commencement speech here. Both video and text of Steve Jobs' commencement speech can found here. Here I concern that they both are great public figure. JK Rowling is the author of best-seller Harry Potter series and Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple Computer and PIXAR Animation. And what's greater is they gave a speech in front of great people, scholars of Harvard and Standford University. I just wondering when will my time arrives.
Public communication is a lot like conversation but never be the same. You have to prepare well, practice more, did some researches, understanding the viewer's feedback by understanding their nonverbal language such as nodding, laughter, clapping hand and so on.
Why would a lot of people give full attention to them?  First, there is something called credibility. Initial credibility. Even before they started to talk, people expected that it is going to be great. And then the opening of the speech. If you have watched or read their speech, JK Rowling started with good humor and Steve
Jobs started with saying a praise that Stanford is "one of the finest university." But, more than the credibility and the opening part of the speech, the body of the speech itself is far more important. The title of JK Rowling's speech is "The Fringe Benefits of Failure, and the Importance of Imagination." As we all have known, she lives by digging her imagination deeper and deeper and splash it on books. While Steve Jobs told us about great story of his life. And in the end, I would like to tell you go and watch and read and understood the speech. It is great!

The beginning of everything. It is called INTRODUCTION

Hi, my name is Nomena. This blog, which you can call Sandra, is a part of my communication assignment. Yes, I am majoring communication now in Bakrie University. There's so much people around me doubt, wondering, and guessing what is the importance of spending four years in life just to study communication science. Not to blame their perception  but those people just don't know that communication more than it. It is live. And it is life. I remember the very first time I saw my lecturer Ms. Dessy Kania. She was standing in front of us and was so eye-catching. Then, she talked
"Which ones of you are majoring communication? Remember, we are all gonna be success."
And I believe in her words and I am myself gonna make it happen for me. So, this blog is an assignment but this is the extraordinary one. Because it is gonna be so much fun.
